Regina Marie Dabbs

Regina “Gina” Marie Dabbs, 69 of Somers, WI passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026, unexpectedly at her home.

She was born January 6, 1957, the daughter of the late John Henry and Jessie Irene (Kintigh) Dabbs the oldest of three siblings.Gina graduated from Union Grove High School in 1975 and went on to graduate from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1978.

She found her true calling as a registered nurse, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology for her entire career; she devoted herself to her patients while working at St. Catherine’s Hospital and later Aurora Medical Center, retiring in 2019. One of her most fond memories was being able to assist in the delivery of her niece, Jenny. Gina was also a proud member of the Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard, serving in several cities throughout Wisconsin for the past three years.

Her hobbies included knitting, traveling and cheering for the Badgers, Packers, and Cubs. There wasn’t a knitting pattern that Gina couldn’t master; she loved to knit items for her friends and family, as gifting her handmade pieces gave her great joy. Gina traveled to several countries over the years along with multiple trips to Alaska to visit her sister. She was able to combine her love of knitting and travel, making many trips to Ireland for knitting vacations. Gina would become giddy with excitement when she found wool shops abroad. She participated as an exhibitor at the Racine County Fair, beginning as a youth in 4-H, and continued into her 60’s. Gina earned hundred of ribbons for her knitting, cooking and photography. She cherished her many visits to Wrigley Field, County Stadium, and Lambeau Field – she even made trips to Colorado to watch the Cubs, and to London to see the Packers play. She just recently visited Lambeau Field where she was able to see the Packers gain victory over the Cowboys. Gina always took great joy to “fly the W” when the Cubs won and she was most excited when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Bowling was also a favorite hobby of Gina’s for over 40 years, and she recently found enjoyment in playing weekly cribbage games.

Survivors include her siblings, Marianne “Sis” Dabbs and Jim Dabbs; sister-in-law, Debbie Dabbs; and niece, Jenny (Clint) Stork. Gina was ecstatic to know she would become a great aunt in 2027.

In addition to her parents, Gina was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Henry and Helen Dabbs; maternal grandmother, Hazel Kintigh; uncles Willis “Dick” Kintigh and Frank “Thomas” Kintigh and an aunt, Alice Dye.

Gina was a kind person, with a big heart for helping others, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
