A Life Remembered

Obituary

Martin “Marty” P. Lang Jr., 63, of Somers, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at his home.

Born on April 24, 1963, in Kenosha, WI, he was the son of the late Martin P. and Shirley A. (Stindle) Lang. Marty attended local schools and graduated from Tremper High School.

He worked as a union painter for 25+ years with Postorino Decorating and, after retirement, part-time with JDR Painting.

Marty's greatest joy was spending time at his favorite home in the Northwoods of Minocqua, where he felt most at peace. An avid outdoorsman, he loved being on the boat with a fishing pole in hand and looked forward to every hunting season. He especially enjoyed serving as the unofficial fishing guide for family and friends, always eager to share his favorite fishing spots and help others reel in a catch. Marty had a passion for fishing that was contagious and created countless memories on the water. A devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, he rarely missed cheering on his favorite teams.

Above all, Marty cherished time with his family and friends. Whether he was hosting a backyard cookout, firing up the grill, or serving one of his famous fish fries after a day on the water, he loved bringing people together. He was known for his unforgettable smile, his gift for telling stories that could make anyone laugh, and the contagious energy that made him the life of every party. To those who knew him best, Marty was truly a jack of all trades - always willing to lend a hand, tackle any project, and brighten the day of everyone around him. His generous heart, quick wit, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Marty will be missed by his adoring wife, Renee Lang of Somers, WI; his two beloved children, Rachel (Jon Pieper) Lang and Jake Lang; sister, Linda (Bill) McFarlane; brother, David Lang; and siblings-in-law, Darlene (Ken) Gretzinger, Claudia (Tom) Corradini, David (Pat) Pitts, Cheryl Haubrich, Lisa (Randy) Westphal, and Jerry Demske. He is further survived by many special nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin P. Lang Sr. and Shirley A. (Stindle) Lang; his father-in-law, Frank Pitts; his mother-in-law, Sylvia Pitts; his nephew, Anthony Edwards; and his sister-in-law, Linda Demske.

A memorial visitation for Marty will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Proko Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
