Kenneth Joseph Glidden, born on October 4, 1940, in Racine, WI, the son of the late Richard and Emily (Podoba) Glidden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Brookside Care Center, Kenosha, WI. He grew up in Kenosha, WI and attended local schools, graduating from St. Mary High School in 1958. On June 15, 1963, he married Camille Stancato at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Kenosha, WI, and she preceded him in death in 2007. Kenneth was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #973.
Kenneth worked for Wisconsin Bell/Ameritech for 35 years before retiring. He dedicated his life to his family and his faith. He was actively involved in charitable events with the Knights of Columbus and cherished traveling with his faithful companion, Susan Eggness. Kenneth remained close with his high school friends, affectionately known as “the Animals”.
Survivors include his companion, Susan Eggness; his children Gregory (Deanna) Glidden, Jon Glidden, Anjanette (Kris) Sorensen, Chad (Michelle) Glidden and Elizabeth (Chris) Robbins; 14 grandchildren, Jacob (Brittany), Kallie, Anthony, Marc, Natalie, Sara, Simone, Alaina, Ethan, Kyle, Karlee, Katelyn, Isabel and Carter; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Josie, and Beckham. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard (Elaine) Glidden, Terry (Sharon) Glidden, Mary (Paul) Cutts, Jennifer (Wayne) Glidden-Cox, and Christy (Dale) Danke.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Camille (Stancato) Glidden; his brother, William Glidden; and his grandson Ian Glidden.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Brookside Care Center for their dedicated and compassionate care over the past 7½ years, and to the caring team at Hospice Alliance who supported him during his final days.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Proko Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at Proko Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. to St. Mary Catholic Church where Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, WI. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to a family memorial.
