Judith “Judy” Anne Korus, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the age of 84 years. She was born on March 31, 1942, in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of the late Otto and Dorothy (Zahn) Zink. Judy grew up in Kenosha, where she attended local schools and graduated from Bradford High School. In 1962, she married Robert Gentz, and together they raised three children. Even after they went their separate ways, they remained lifelong friends together with their future spouses. Judy married Joseph Korus in 1988, and they were together until his passing in 2024.
She had a special talent for working with her hands and found joy in gardening, sewing, and creating many sets of detailed felt and egg ornaments for Christmas. Her children and grandchildren will cherish these and remember Judy fondly during the holidays. Judy loved to stay home and enjoyed spending quiet moments reading, watching television and working on jigsaw puzzles. Taking after her father Judy was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and always cheered on the Green Bay Packers.
Above all else, Judy’s family was her greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for her thoughtfulness, Judy always put her family before herself. She never held a grudge or judged anyone, and her accepting spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her children, Jeffrey Gentz, Steven (Anne) Gentz, and Pamela (Jeffrey) Greathouse; grandchildren, Olyvia (Alex) Kozicki, Adam Gentz, Tyler (Morgan) Gentz, Samuel (Michael) Stein,Kayla (Alec) Birz, Cole Gentz; and 3 great grandchildren, Lennon and Rhett Kozicki, and Graham Gentz; brother, Robert (Janet) Zink; sister-in-law, Claudia Zink; and former husband Robert (Susan) Gentz.
