Jeffrey Raymond Lester

1951 ∼ 2026

Jeffrey Raymond Lester

Jeffrey Raymond Lester passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at the age of 74 years.

Jeff was born on August 29, 1951, to Raymond and Josephine (Kulbiski) Lester. He grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and graduated from Tremper High School with the Class of 1969.

A lifelong automotive enthusiast, Jeff dedicated his career to the trade he loved. He worked for AMC/Chrysler for over 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was a proud member of Kenosha UAW Local 72 and Milwaukee UAW Local 75. In addition to his work in the automotive industry, Jeff was an ASE Certified Advanced Master Auto Technician and owned and operated Jeff's Auto Service for more than 25 years.

On June 21, 1984, Jeff married Joan Nelson, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they built a life filled with love, dedication, and memories.

Jeff's love for cars extended beyond his profession. He loved everything automotive—from hot rods and muscle cars to building and restoring vehicles and attending car shows. He found great joy in working with his hands, whether he was home brewing, creating unique metal art, tending to his yard and gardens, or completing his next project.

More than anything, Jeff will be remembered for his gentle spirit and generous heart. He was the kindest man you could ever meet, always making friends along the way. Jeff could never say no to those calling late at night or just stopping by for a quick car repair.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife Joan; children, David (Julie) Rubenstein, Karin Rubenstein, Brian Rubenstein, Leslie (Scott) Johnson, and Dana (Dan) Mortensen; grandchildren, Josh, Ashley, Georgia, Sam, Max, Tyler, Emma, and Jakob; and eight great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many great and lifelong friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lynda Lester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jeff’s name can be made to a charity of ones choosing.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Proko Funeral Home. For those who cannot attend, the service will be live streamed and recorded on Jeff’s obituary page at www.prokofuneralhome.com

Thinking back about the times I spent with Jeff I'm reminded of what I considered to be his best attribute. He was gifted with the gift of gab. Everyone that knew him loved to talk with him about almost anything but especially cars and all things related. The man knew everything there was to know and could repair them with special skills. I think he liked beer too. My condolences to his wife and family and all of his friends 🧡. You will be missed Jeff Lester and rest in peace 🙏

Jeff was a blessing to our family. He always took great care of our daughter’s accessible van and our vehicles. He always had a smile and a home brewed beer for us. He will stay in our hearts.
