Jeffrey W. Thornburgh

Jeffrey William Thornburgh, 61, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Jeff was born on November 11, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Janice (Burkey) Harrison and William Thornburgh. He graduated from Tremper High School with the Class of 1982. Jeff married Barb Hummel on May 11, 1991, beginning their life together.

A true jack of all trades, Jeff wore many hats throughout his life and worked in a variety of careers. He was a talented man that could build you anything and loved sharing his version of the right way. Though, his favorite adventure was owning and operating Sweets and Eats on 6th Avenue in Kenosha alongside his beloved wife, Barb, for several years.

Above all else, the family he built was Jeff's greatest priority and the most important part of his life. Nothing meant more to him than the people he loved. He was especially proud of his three children, their spouses, and all seven grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. He felt truly blessed to have each of them in his life and treasured the time he shared with them.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Barbara; his children, Corey (Michael Callo) Thornburgh, Jimmy (Shirah) Kulerski, and Bryan (Shelby) Thornburgh; his cherished grandchildren, JayVaughn, Olivia, James, Ryland, Chase, Colt, and Abigail; his mother, Janice Harrison; and his siblings, Richard (Linda Burnette) Thornburgh, Denice (David) Glogovsky, William (Dawn McClellan) Thornburgh, Melisa Haymore, and Michael Harrison. He is further survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mel Harrison, birth father, William Thornburgh, along with other beloved family members and friends.

Jeff will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Though he may be gone, the memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave will live on through the family who meant everything to him.

A celebration of Jeff's life is being planned. Details will be announced at a later date.
