A Life Remembered

Obituary

Jacques Charles ‘Jack’ Viroglio, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, WI, passed away on October 17, 2026.

Jack lived a full and remarkable life, defined by his love of family, strong work ethic, adventurous spirit, and genuine concern for others.

Born and raised in Kenosha, Jack proudly served his country as a Russian linguist in the United States Army while stationed in Alaska. Following military service, he enjoyed a long and successful career. After 30 years with Case Corporation in Racine, Jack retired in 1997 and went on to own and operate Uniquely Northern in Manitowish Waters and Northern Lights Gallery in downtown Racine, alongside his wife Pam for 27 years.

Jack was happiest when he was outdoors. An avid fisherman and lover of Wisconsin’s Northwoods, he treasures time spent at his northern home in Mercer, whether fishing, hiking, biking, camping, or simply sitting quietly and watching the wildlife. He also loved to travel, exploring destinations throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Never one to pass up a scenic country road, Jack enjoyed the journey as much as the destination, especially when it meant discovering something unexpected along the way.

Jack was truly one of a kind. Quiet by nature, but never short on opinions, he possessed a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for storytelling. He could be quite a character, and those who knew him well appreciated his wit, strong convictions, and unmistakable personality. Beneath that sometimes-opinionated exterior was an extraordinarily generous and compassionate man. Jack cared deeply about others, particularly those facing hardships or struggling to make ends meet. His concern was sincere, and his willingness to help reflected the kindness at the heart of who he was.

Above all, Jack cherished the people in his life. He shared 46 loving years with his wife Pam, and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and extended family. His life was enriched by those relationships, the memories made together, and the many friendships he cultivated over the years.

Jack was preceded in death by his father Renato (Otto); mother Zoe Viroglio (Boutan); sisters Donna Wallig and Carmen Schoor; brother Duane Viroglio; and in-laws Billie-Marie Cote and Robert Cote.

He is survived by his beloved wife Pamela ‘Pam’ Cote; children Ronald Joseph Viroglio and Jacqueline Ann (George) McIntyre; four grandchildren Micheal (Elise) Viroglio, John Viroglio, Katie (Aaron) Lachell, and Jason (Beth) Clark; five great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Exor (Robert Polubinsky) Cote; James (Debra) Cote; and aunt Jackie Killips.

And never to forget niece Vicki (Glen Malkmus) Viroglio.

Jack leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and treasured memories. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his generous heart, his colorful personality, and the compassion he showed to others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
