Sarah Elizabeth Devine, born Sarah Elizabeth Finney on March 28, 1980 died Saturday, October 5, 2013. Her death, a tragic accident, resulted from underestimating the potency of the prescribed medication, amitriptyline. Sarah was born in Millington, TN in 1980, but lived in Kenosha from 1981 until her death. She attended Harvey Elementary School, Washington Junior High, where she participated in the school’s Honor Program, and Ruther High School. She earned her high school diploma from KUSD in May of 1998. She attended college at Gateway off and on for ten years, earning 30 credits towards an Associate Degree. Sarah is survived by her three children, Devyn Leigh Devine-Tolliver (14), Ashlyn Rae Weidner (11), and Conor Jordan Young (8); her parents, Kevin and Susie Devine; her grandmother and her husband, Shirley M. and Joel Freitag all Kenosha residents. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Gary R. and Jamie Blevins and their son, Brennan of Florence, KY. Not only was Sarah a beautiful woman, but she also had a beautiful voice! She loved karaoke; she sang at church from time to time and you might catch her once in a while singing to the top of her lungs with her daughter, Devyn; dancing around the living room with second daughter, Ashlyn; or cuddling with her son, Conor. Her favorite music was pop/rock, and she loved the Rent (the movie) Soundtrack. She also enjoyed Christian Contemporary. For the past two years, Sarah was deeply entrenched in the recovery community in Kenosha as a member of the Kenosha Alano Club. Sarah was a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Kenosha and was baptized there on October 5, 2003 by Pastor Jeffrey Sackett. All three of her children are also members at Parkside and all three were baptized by Pastor Sackett. She demonstrated a deep and abiding faith in the saving grace and power of Jesus Christ. Her life verse comes from John 15 verse 16: “You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in my name He may give you.” She believed as we do that her Heavenly Father had a perfect plan for her life. We believe that on Saturday, October 5th, she completed His assigned purpose and now resides with Him, resting in His everlasting arms, forever. For all the loves of her life, please know how much we appreciate all that you contributed to her journey. Along with her children, you helped make her life rich beyond measure. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Parkside Baptist Church, 2620-14th Place, Kenosha, WI, at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Sarah’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

This is so hard to believe. Sarah always looked and sang like an angel...now she is one. May her kids feel her protective arms around them all the days of their lives.
