Grace Marie Halverson, 99 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Legacy at St. Joseph's, Kenosha, WI.She was born February 13, 1926, in Onalaska, WI the daughter of the late Edward and Esther (Brown) McCabe. Grace graduated from Holmen High School, Holmen, WI and on June 5, 1948, she married Lyman Halverson at St. James Church, LaCrosse, WI and he preceded her in death in 1999. Grace worked for Electric Auto-Lite in LaCrosse, WI from 1943 – 1958.Her family was the joy of her life. Grace was an avid Bridge player, a member of the Christian Woman’s Club, and Bridge Club. Survivors include her children, Richard (Pat) Halverson, Mark (Kathie) Halverson, Karen (William) Vincent, and Mary (Don) Birkholz; a son-in-law, Brian Portilia; sister, Mary Hanson; brother, John McCabe; ten grandchildren, Kellee Chwala, Tim Halverson, Lisa Ziarko, Brian Portilia, Brock Portilia, Rianna Doll, William Vincent V, Brett Vincent, Jeremy Birkholz, and Jillian Fuhrer; and 17 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Halverson; a daughter, Nancy Portilia; grandson, Erik Halverson; four sisters; and three brothers.The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Legacy at St. Joseph's and Hospice Alliance for all of their care and support. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at The Legacy at St. Joseph’s, 9244 29th Avenue, Kenosha, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Legacy at St. Joseph's. Entombment will be private in All Saints Mausoleum, Pleasant Prairie, WI. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to The Legacy at St. Joseph's or Hospice Alliance, in her memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Proko Funeral Home.
