Marcia M. Shaffer
Marcia M. Shaffer, 83, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 3, 1942, in Madison, WI, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Anne (Clark) Moore. She moved to Kenosha when she was 7 years old and attended local schools. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in education from Carthage College. On June 6, 1964, she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Shaffer in Madison, WI. She was employed by Kenosha Unified School District. She taught at several of the local elementary schools prior to her retirement in 2002. Marcia was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was an avid Wisconsin Badger, Green Bay Packer, and Milwaukee Brewer fan. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Shaffer of Kenosha, WI; five children, Scott Shaffer, Todd (Alison) Shaffer, Mark Shaffer, Sue (Mike) Miller, Jon (Doreen) Shaffer; ten grandchildren, Katie (Jesse) Schwarten, Sydney Redlin, Ethan Redlin, Jack Redlin, Aidan Shaffer, Jacob Shaffer, Jonathan Shaffer, Evan Shaffer, Kaitlyn Miller and Colin Miller; and one sister, Virginia (Lesley) Alward. Marcia will affectionately be remembered for her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, and being “mom” to so many, she will be sorely missed by her friends across town. Next time you are out, order a Long Island and toast to her. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 5601 Washington Road, Kenosha, WI, 53144, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lord of Life Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
