Born to eternal life September 5, 2023. Daughter of Leroy Hoff Sr. and Gladys (Schmidt) Hoff. Married Frank Smaniotto Jr. and began sharing adventures and building a life and family together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was fiercely independent and a champion for her family and friends, especially for her special needs daughter Daren. Time spent at the beach in Florida was treasured, especially with her daughters and grandson. Doris was employed most recently at Sears, where she was an excellent though humble worker, called “the foundation that supported the customer experience.” She made many friends while there. She is survived by her husband Frank, daughters Deena (Tom Siwakowski) Smaniotto and Daren Smaniotto, grandson Travis Siwakowski, granddaughter Jamie (Brandon) Eckardt, great grandchildren Fischer and Lenni Eckardt, sister Virginia (Richard) Oechler, nieces, nephews, and other family. Doris was preceded in death by her son Brian Smaniotto, her brother Leroy Hoff Jr., Aunt (like a sister) Helen Oechler. Always loved, always remembered.
