Linda Lou Bruce

1944 ∼ 2023

Linda Lou (Cowen) Bruce, 78, beloved mother, daughter, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away January 31, 2023. Born in Kenosha December 9, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Russell Guy and Olive Lou (Weibel) Cowen-Werra. August 14, 1965, she married William Ernest “Bill” Bruce. After 54 years together, he preceded her in death February 27, 2019. Following his passing, she relocated to Utah to live with family. Also preceding her in death are her two sisters: Violet (Chuck) Judeika and Wilma Anderson. Linda dedicated her life as a caregiver for her whole family. She was a Girl Scout leader, and a partner of a small business. (The Fish Paradise) She was best known for her love and loyalty to her family, her compassion for animals and her ability to bake custom cakes and other desserts. She was very creative and her passion for painting, chalking, sewing, and crocheting was unrivaled with her own little spin on whatever she was making. Spending time with her family was the highlight of her day, playing cards, games, or just hanging out watching TV. Her door was always open to anyone and made everyone feel at home with a pot of coffee, great conversation, a laugh that brought people together with her kindness and a cheerful spirit that radiated to everyone around her. She is survived by her brother: Fred (Carol) Cowen; five children: Pamela Bruce-Atout(Eihab), Bill (Eva) Bruce, Lisa (Sharon Cline) Bruce, Tom (Kibbie) Bruce, and Wendy (Chris) Ostrander; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Proko Funeral Home, followed by a service at 12:00 Noon. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead donate to the Humane Society because of her love for animals.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Linda’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
