It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Michael E. Olexa, Sr. “Eddy” 75 years old of Kenosha, WI on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Born on January 15, 1946, in Ironwood, MI, son of the late Matthew J. Olexa and Virginia (Habina) Dunn, Mike married the love of his life, Peggy Cope in Chicago, IL on August 29, 1987. Not only did Mike love fishing and playing cards, he was also an avid Chicago Bears fan. Fond memories of Mike include him sitting with a cup of coffee, a cigarette, and a good conversation. He loved fiercely and deeply. Above all, Mike loved spending time with his family. Mike is survived by his wife Peggy; his children, Edward (Libba) Olexa, Sherry (Bryce) Olexa, Michael W. (Beth) Olexa, Michael E. (Samantha) Olexa Jr., and Sara Olexa; a sister, Patricia Benitez; and many loved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by siblings, Matt Olexa Jr., Barbara Olexa, and John Olexa. Services are postponed until further notice due to COVID-19. I remember going over to his household as a kid fairly often to hang out with one of his children, and i always remember him being a really funny guy, who had a really memorable laugh. i remember that, for sure. he was a really nice man, and he will be deeply missed by many. my condolences to his family. ❤️

Mike, you will be missed so much from your family and friends. Your depart was a shocker to me but I know now that you are at peace. The Cope family has gained another Gaurdian Angel. Rest in Peace dear one!!
