Michael Wayne Cooper

Michael W. “Mike” Cooper, 54, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Froedtert South-Kenosha Medical Center Campus. Born in Kenosha on July 25, 1963, he was the son of Gerald and Sue (Gardner) Cooper. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. Following high school, Mike enlisted and served in the US Air Force. He went on to receive his Associate Degree from UW-Green Bay. Mike was an avid comic book collector and reader since age five. This led to becoming the owner and operator of his own company, Mad Giraffe Entertainment. His business consisted of online comic book sales, where he had almost 10,000 listings on Amazon. He had plans of expanding into other areas of entertainment. Aside from his business, Mike was very involved at the Rhode Theater. He acted in numerous plays, directed, and co-directed several productions. Additionally, he supported the theater by helping to build and paint sets, managing their website, and promoting their events at the Kenosha Visitor Center. With a passion for art, Mike was a talented artist. He would paint and write daily. He also had a thirst for knowledge and would read many books on any subject. Survivors include his son, Logan M. Cooper; mother, Sue Cooper; brother, Matthew Cooper; and sister, Peggy (Michael) Jeffries. He is further survived by nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends who will greatly miss his humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Cooper Sr.; and brothers, Gerald Cooper Jr., and Christopher Cooper in infancy.
