Cecilia Pientkewic O’Leksy, 93, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at her home. Born in Vulcan, MI, on May 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Bray) Pientkewic. Cecilia married Anthony Joseph O’Leksy who preceded her in death. She moved to Chicago as a young lady and had her four oldest children. The family moved to Kenosha in 1960, and had their youngest child. Cecilia was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, and all of her children attended the school until 8th grade. She was employed at St. Catherine’s Hospital for some time. Cecilia was creative. She made a grandfather’s clock from scratch, barrel furniture, wedding cakes, and was a photographer and master gardener. She managed to do all of these things while raising five children. This woman of many talents will be missed immensely. Surviving Cecilia are three children, Gail O’Leksy, Gary O’Leksy, and Gwynne (Jay) Carlson; grandchildren, Staci (Jason) Stowe and Amalia Cecilia Villarruel; and one great-grandchild, Emilia Anne Stowe. She was joined in heaven with 12 siblings; and two sons, A.J. O’Leksy and John O’Leksy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 18th, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7117-14th Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held prior at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
