Rebecca Gomez, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Medical Center Campus. Born in San Antonio, TX, on August 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George and Beatrice Ortiz. In 1947, she married Ignacio Gomez. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Kenosha. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2003. Rebecca dedicated her life to raising her seven children. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving Rebecca are her five sons, Alfred (Di Yin) Gomez of Yorkville, Ronald (Alaine) Gomez of Hingham, MA, Howard (Janet) Gomez of Brown Deer, Gregory (Kristen) Gomez of Kenosha, and Steven Gomez of Chicago, IL; two daughters, Diane (Gary Kleck) Gomez of Tallahassee, FL, and Jeanette (Michael) Sorensen of Kenosha; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Ortiz, Hortense Acosta, and Evangeline Acosta; and three brothers, George, Gilbert, and Richard Ortiz. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Ortiz.
