Shirley K. Furlin, 84, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on April 30, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Nellie (Hudson) Frederick. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. On August 20, 1949, she married Frank Furlin in Kenosha. Shirley was formerly employed by Coopers and most recently worked as a lunch lady with the Kenosha Unified School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the piano, singing, sewing, golfing and bowling. She was an excellent cook and baker and also held a very close bond with her sisters. Survivors include her husband, Frank Furlin of Kenosha; a half-sister, Judy Mueller of Kenosha; a step brother, Ron Frederick of Kenosha; a step sister, Jackie Roberts of Sturtevant; a sister-in-law, Josephine (Albino) Dalla Santa of Kenosha; six nieces, Christine (Mike) Ritacca, Deborah (Dan) McGovern, Diana (Jeff) Werwie, Deena (Rick) Leys, Cassie (Mario) Diaz Bello and Jackie (Joe) Gianeselli; and five nephews, David (Pat) Furlin, Bruce (Peggy) Furlin, Keith (Mary) Haber, Todd (Bonnie) Haber and Robert (Winnie) Dalla Santa;. She is further survived by numerous great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Frederick; two sisters, Audrey Lento and Charlotte Haber; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Furlin. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3rd, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 12:00 noon. Interment will be private at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
