Edward Dennis McBride, loving father, husband and friend, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Clare Bridge of Kenosha. He was 86, born May 29, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY.Edward was the beloved husband of DeEtte Eleanor Hall McBride, loving father of Thomas (Sharon), Dean (Wendy), and Kathleen (Robert) Sommer, cherished grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 5. Edward is also survived by his sister Gertrude McBride, sister-in-law, Eleanor Hall and many nieces and nephews.Edward gave much of himself to others whether it was in service to his country (USN WWII), volunteering for the Boy Scouts, or assisting his pastor in his visiting ministry; Edward demonstrated that love for others. He was active in Am vets, the Moose, and Toastmasters.Throughout his life Edward loved the outdoors, enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and golf. Most of all Edward put family first.Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife DeEtte, his parents, Francis and Gertrude McBride, and elder brother Eugene.A time of gathering will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014, with visitation being held from 4 P.M. until 5 P.M., 5 P.M. service and 6 P.M. light meal in the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church, 128 N. Martin Luther King Ave and West Clayton, Waukegan, IL.
