Karen Fay Hulbert, age 69, of Sheboygan Falls, WI, passed away on March 5, 2013, at Progressive Care Center in Sheboygan after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Sheboygan on January 2, 1944, a daughter of the late Walter Emil and Violet Mae Pierce Koll. Karen graduated from Sheboygan South High. On December 1, 1962, she married James Charles Hulbert in Sheboygan at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Karen was employed at the Sheboygan Area Credit Union until her retirement in 2008. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Surviving Karen are her husband Jim of fifty years; her daughters, Tracy (Kelly) McCarthy of Milwaukee, and Dana (Scott) Pelky of Racine, WI; her two grandchildren, Angie McCarthy and Elijah “Eli” Pelky; two great-grandchildren, Braden and Isabella; brother, Chuck (Patti) Koll of Waldo, WI; and a sister in-law, Shelby (Gene) Truttschel. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Karen is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Eugene Koll. The family would like to give a special thank you to Chuck and Patti Koll, Tom and Gloria Kanzelberger and neighbors Bonnie (Randy) Morgan, Kyle Borchardt, the staff at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and Progressive Care for helping us with Jim and Karen’s care. A memorial celebration will be held for Karen on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan, WI 53081, at 2:00 p.m. A memorial gathering will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
