Joan Elin Emmerich
Joan Emmerich, 74, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Kindred South Nursing Home. She was born in Washington D.C. on March 20, 1938, the daughter of the late Richard and Mable Cowdrick. She moved to Wisconsin and was educated in the Green Bay school system and later moved to Kenosha where she earned her degree in criminal science from U.W. Parkside. She was employed by the State of Wisconsin as a Probation Agent retiring in 2002 after 25 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and raising orchids. She loved cats and attending various cat shows. Surviving Joan are her three sons, Bruce (Jane) of Arlington, MA, Dwayne (Mary) of Mendon, MA, and Kurt (Anne) of Kenosha, WI; daughter in-law, Paula Carson of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Kyle, Ariel, Hallie and John; and a sister, Patricia McConnell of Kill Devil Hills, NC. She is further survived by step children, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her son, Trent.
