Louis Mario Fumo, 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15th at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 17, 1924 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Eugene and Amelia (Politano) Fumo. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was deployed on September 24, 1943 for duty in North Africa. He arrived in Casablanca on October 12, 1943. He then was transferred to Italy in December of 1943 where he served as an interpreter. On May 15, 1954 he married Charlotte Smolik at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Louis was employed by American Motors Corporation as a Millwright. It was a job he treasured for over 34 years. Next to God, his family was most important. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Italian American Club. He enjoyed playing golf and was a loyal Packer fan. He was a great cook and every year he had a garden. Louis is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his three daughters, Kathleen (Tony) Lovetro, Jr. their sons, Matthew Louis and Anthony Louis III; Peggy Fumo of Brown Deer, WI and Julie (Mike) Berman of Gurnee, IL; and three sisters, Carmella (Joseph) Sturino of Kenosha, Helen Martin of Houston, TX and Delores (Jim) Lass of Green Bay, WI and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Amanda and Adam Sabby; two sisters, Mary (Eugene) Filippello and Chancey (Louis) Aiello and one brother-in-law, Allen Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 18th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum with Full Military Honors. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Dad, you’ve always put your family first. You’ve listened with your heart. I'm so very sorry to here about Uncle Lou. He is my Godfather, and I will miss him. We would always catch up with each other around Thanksgiving for the last 10 years. I'm going to miss that special time that we had together, and it will remain in my heart forever. By for now Uncle Lou....

OMG! I just read that Louie died and I am shocked!! I don't get paper & don't have home computor & if I had known I most surely would have paid my respects to such a wonderful man! He went to bat for me more than once when it came to my ma & how she was to me. I feel just horrid!! I wish I had known. I just can't say how bad I feel. You all have my number, please call! I do love alll of you!!
