Vaney Daniel Donovan

Vaney D. Donovan, age 83, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday November 18, 2011, at his residence with his family beside him. He was born on March 26, 1928, in Waterbury, VT, the son of the late Glenn and Lillian (Persons) Donovan. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by American Motors/Chrysler Corp as an electrician until his retirement. He was a member of a member of VFW Post 1865 and the Free Masons in Waterbury, VT. Vaney enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching ball games and watching wildlife. On May 22, 1954, he married Arleen Hornburg in Milwaukee, WI; they were married for 54 years. Surviving Vaney are his son, Dale (Cindy) Donovan of Kenosha, WI; two daughters, Lauren (Randy) Ollila of Kenosha and Kathie Doherty of Milwaukee; five grandchildren, Brian, Steven, Kevin, Justin and Danielle; his son in-law, Robert Doherty of Kenosha; and caregiver and family friend, Cheryl Legler. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Arleen, on January 4, 2008. A memorial gathering will be held at the Proko Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 23rd, from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
