Lucrezia Carter

Lucrezia "Atze" Carter, 83, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at St. Catherine’s Medical Complex in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on November 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Citerony. Lucrezia graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School and attended Alverno College in Milwaukee. On August 6, 1949, she married Cecil Carter at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She had worked at Simmons Company in Kenosha, as well as various places in Illinois, Maryland and Virginia. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, The American Legion, Christian Coalition, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association and Prolife Wisconsin. Surviving are her husband, Cecil; three daughters, Lorette Ann (Larry) Lough of Maryland, Claudia (Craig) Mossman of Virginia, and Lauren (Richard) Buroker of Mt. Pleasant, WI; two sons, Charles Carter of Kenosha and Richard Edward of California; two sisters, Cesira Orton of Chicago and Clara Krom of Kenosha; a brother, Paul Citerony of Oconomowoc; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 12th, at St. James Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
