Donald Johnson, 80, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2011, at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Kenosha on November 5, 1930, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Emma (Romahn) Johnson. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools, graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School. On June 14, 1952, he married Mary Mich at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paris, WI. Donald was employed by J.I. Case for 31 years in the engineering department and previously by the Simmons Co. and Coopers Inc. (Jockey). He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and a member of the J.I. Case 20 Year Club. He had formerly been a member of the Kenosha County Fair Police and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Police. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Pleasant Prairie; his six children, Jerry Johnson of Kenosha, Carol (Jeff) Nesbitt of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Barbara (Bill) Martin of Novato, CA, Tom (Sylvia) Johnson of Kenosha, Ted (Lois) Johnson of Kenosha, and Dan Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 6th, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
