Joseph Dominick Skarecky, 96, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011, at Parkside Manor. Born in Berwyn, IL, on September 3, 1914, he was the son of the late Dominick and Katherine (Sedlar) Skarecky. He was a resident of Berwyn, IL, for most of his life, later moving to Naperville, IL, Vernon Hills, IL, Gurnee, IL, and most recently Kenosha, WI. On March 26, 1938, he married the late Violetta Kotas in Berwyn at her mother’s home and celebrated 69 wonderful years of marriage. Joseph was a Mason and member of the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed fishing, managing his finances, traveling to Europe and Japan, and playing the slots in Las Vegas. Surviving are his two children, James (Nancy) Skarecky of Gurnee, IL, and Margaret Kleronomos of Naperville, IL; four grandchildren, Timothy Skarecky (Jill), Tod Skarecky (Betsy), Katherine Ragsdale (Jeff), and Dean Kleronomos (Kim), and seven great-grandchildren, Parker, Henry, Clair, Andrew, Helena, Nicholas, and Lukas. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Rudy, Laddie and Jerry.
