Barbara Lou Adams, 61, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Manor Care in Kenosha with her three daughters by her side, after a short, but courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born in Kenosha on August 26, 1949, the daughter of the late Kenneth and LaVerne (Birchard) Goodwin. On April 6, 1968, she married James Joseph Adams in Patuxant River, MD. Barbara was nurse for over 40 years. She loved her career, mainly concentrating her expertise to those in nursing homes. She loved Las Vegas, Barry Manilow, and spending time with her three daughters and their families. Barbara is survived by her husband, James; her three children, Jennifer (Chris) Russell of Beach Park, IL, Jerianne (Ray) Closs of Kenosha, and Jessica Mahon of Racine; twelve grandchildren, Michael, Zachary, Sara, and Sydni Closs, Monica, Elizabeth, Megan, and Leah Russell, James J.S. Adams, Danny Mears, Alexis and Breanna Mahon; a sister, Cynthia Connelly; her niece, Lara Hernandez; and her two nephews, Michael and Kenneth Post. Barbara was preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Mears. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 28th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
