Donald B. Streich, 84, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, February 20th, 2009, at Grande Prairie Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on January 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Henry and Lillian (Meusling) Streich. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. On September 20, 1947, he married Muriel Wienke at Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2005. He worked at Simmons Co., American Motors and the City of Kenosha Street Dept. for 42 years, retiring in January of 1990. Don was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, AFL/CIO Local #71, AFSCME, and was on the Labor Paper Press Committee for 25 years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, gardening, and was an avid fan of auto racing. Surviving are his four children, Ronald (Kathy) Streich of Kenosha, Jerry (Carol) Streich of Trevor, WI, Donald L. Streich of Kenosha, and Pamela Streich of Waterford; a brother, Paul (Carol) Streich of Williston, SC; a sister, Helen (Milton) Merrick of Kenosha; and four grandchildren, Kristina, Melanie, Erik and Amy. He was preceded in death by a son, David on February 15, 2007; and two grandchildren, Michael and Karen. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at North Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
