Dante Paul Furloni
Dante P. Furloni, 90, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, August 10th, 2008, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Born on April 9, 1918, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Guido and Benedicta (Prola) Furloni. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, attended local schools, and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1937. On September 21, 1940, he married Susan Salerno at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was enlisted in the United States Army in Company G 326th Glider Infantry Regiment from November 28, 1942, until his Honorable Discharge as a Corporal on October 31, 1945. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon, American Campaign Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three bronze stars. He was employed as a supervisor in the plating department at Frost Company for over 40 years, until his retirement in 1983. Dante was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman, liked playing the lottery and cards, and enjoyed camping and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Susan of Kenosha; a daughter, Rose (Michael) Thome of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Michael Dante Thome, Melinda (Damon) Brown, and Jeffrey Thome; and three great-grandchildren, Torrey, Dante, and Nadia Brown. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Raymond and Ulysses and one sister, Ruby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 14th, from Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the mass.
