Jeffery G. Starr, 60, of Kenosha, passed away, Wednesday, July 30th, 2008, in Mauston, WI, while doing what he loved, fishing with good friends. Born on April 13, 1948, in Kenosha, WI, he was the son of the late Giles and Edna (Lemus) Starr. A lifelong resident of Kenosha educated in local schools, he graduated from Tremper High School. On October 17, 1970, he married Mary "Laurie" Larsen at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. For 29 years, Jeffery was employed by the former Kenosha Beef International, now Birchwood Foods. Jeffery’s passion in life was fishing. He was an expert at crafting his own lures and tying his own flies, a skill that he learned from his father. His other hobbies included going to the casino, vegetable gardening, and watching the Packers. His family was very important to him, especially his two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary; two daughters, Tammie (Louis) DeFranco and Jammie (Michael) Orth, both of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Renata and Harry Orth; and his faithful companion, his dog, Hollie. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 4th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
