Donna Mae BURNETT

1937 ∼ 2007

Donna Mae BURNETT
Our hero has found peace. Even though her dauntless battle ended on June 18th, 2007, her courageous spirit will continue to inspire all who loved her. She is the wind beneath our wings. Donna was born on December 13, 1937, in Woodworth, WI, to Emil and Margaret Krahn. She had four siblings: Betty (Leo) Kirchner, Linda (David) Cowan, Nancy (Ken) Schulz, and Robert (Vi) Krahn. In 1956, she married Glenn Sonnenberg in Woodworth, WI. They raised their three children: Pam (Mark Eckardt) Sonnenberg of Milwaukee, Scott (Terry) Sonnenberg of Kenosha, and Theresa (John) Watson in Burlington, WI. On April 6, 1985, Donna married Robert Burnett and became a loving stepmother to Char (John Uhen) Weidert, Theresa (Jeff) Thompson, Michael (Pam) Burnett, and Jeanine (Ben) Gilmore. Donna and Robert have resided in Salem, WI, since their marriage began. For thirty-one years, she was the principal's secretary at Wilmot High School, Wilmot, WI. She later worked at American Doll Company, Wilmot, WI. Donna was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and Bosom Buddies. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel. Her favorite hobby, however, was spoiling her 4 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren. Family members who have preceded her in death are her parents; her aunt, Marie Ulicki; and a nephew, Joseph Krahn. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:30 am. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask that family and friends celebrate Donna's life by donating to the Breast Cancer Foundation and Hospice Alliance in her honor.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533www.prokofuneralhome.com
