Charles E. Brown, 79, of Kenosha, passed away Wednesday, March 14th, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center. Born in Chicago, IL, on April 5, 1927, e was the son of the late Charles and Maude (Maurell) Ross. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. On March 5, 1973, he married Wylodene Wilkens in Florence, AL. He was the owner and operator of Last Stop Auto-Salvage & Towing, retiring in 1983. He was a former Sheriff's Deputy in Alcorn, MS, and the Mid-West Golden Gloves champion, retiring at the age of 40. He also raced Stock Cars from his late teens to the age of 51 and enjoyed building custom cars. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Wylodene of Kenosha; three children, Jack Kennedy, Charles Kennedy-Brown and Charlene Cortes, all of Kenosha; three sisters, Shirley Mauldin of Waukegan, IL, and Susan Tabelli and Minnie Matera, both of Kenosha; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Brown, a sister-in-law and his mother-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 18th, at Proko Funeral Home at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Sunday at Proko Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
