Dennis A. Hoey, 78, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, October 13th, 2006, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Duluth, MN, on September 24, 1928, he was the son of the late James L. and LuVerne (Lambert) Hoey. He was raised in Superior, WI, where he attended school before moving to Kenosha in 1944, where he attended Kenosha High School. He was in the United States Air Force from 1947 until 1951. On June 5, 1954, he married Mabel Leach at St. James Catholic Church. He had been employed for 35 years by Wisconsin Natural Gas Co. until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan. He lived for his grandsons. Surviving are his wife, Mabel; a son, Dennis A. (Eva) Hoey, Jr. of Pleasant Prairie; a daughter, Kathleen (Rick) Taylor of Kenosha; a sister, Susan (Marvin) Poikonen of Tipler, WI; and five grandchildren, Jake, Ryan, Casey, Christopher and Cody. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. Hoey, and a sister, Rosemary Stein. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16th, at Proko Funeral Home at 7:00 pm. Entombment to be private. Visitation will be held on Monday at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until the time of the service.
