Donald C. "Don" Werner, 78, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006, at Aurora Medical Center. Born in Kenosha, on December 27, 1927, he was the son of the late Arthur and Erna (Kehrberg) Werner. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha County, receiving his education in local schools. On June 18, 1949, he married Alice Johann at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church Kenosha. He had been employed by American Motors until his retirement in 1980. A former member of UAW Local #72, Don enjoyed gardening, working with metal, motorcycles, rock hunting, flying gyro-copters, and was a member of the EAA. Surviving are his wife, Alice of Kenosha; a son, Larry (Wanda) Werner of Kenosha; two daughters, Peggy Tump of Twin Lakes, and Connie (Tom) Gildenstern of Kenosha; two sisters, Caroline Luettgen of Racine, and Norine Krome of Arizona; five grandchildren, Tina, Ed, Jenny, Stacy and Scott; and three great-grandchildren, Greg, Alex and Ashley. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
