John Polanin, 88, of Kenosha, passed away Saturday (March 19th, 2005) at his residence. Born November 7, 1916, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Wasil and Julia Polanin, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, educated in local schools. On November 24, 1945, at Immanuel Baptist Church, he married Elizabeth Bette Gantz. She preceded him in death. He had been employed by MacWhyte Wire Rope for 42 years, retiring in April of 1981. John was a member of Baptist Tabernacle and enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking. Surviving are a foster daughter, LaRee (Billy) Roe, Sr. of Kenosha; a foster son, Wade David Christoffersen of Kenosha; and a brother, Walter Polanin of Kenosha. He was preceded in death by a sister, Olga Kirklis; and three brothers, George, Wasil, Jr. and Alex Polanin. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, March 23rd, at Baptist Tabernacle. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
