Cheryl Ann Parent

1954 ∼ 2026

Cheryl Ann Parent

Cheryl Ann Parent, age 72, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on September 9, 2026, surrounded by family at Aurora Medical Center in West Allis, WI. She was born on March 30, 1954, in Kenosha, WI, to Victor and Avis (Picken) Duban.

Cheryl grew up in Kenosha, attended local schools and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School. On September 16, 1978, she married Roger Parent, and together they raised their two daughters in Pleasant Prairie. Cheryl stayed home while her girls were young, devoting those years to her family, and later went on to work in medical records for Froedtert South.

Cheryl will be remembered most by family and friends for always lending an ear. Her daughters called her daily to talk through their days, share good news or simply vent, and she was always there to listen and offer perspective. She showed her love through home cooking, baked goods and her signature orange blossom, best enjoyed alongside her favorite glass of Cook's spumante. She kept an impeccable garden and found joy in any excuse to be in the yard. She adored the holidays, and her home reflected it — every season arrived at the Parent house dressed in its finest, decorated with a care and delight that made even an ordinary day feel like a celebration. In quieter moments, you could find her tending her digital farm in Hay Day, which she ran with the same dedication she gave her real garden. There was always a spoiled dog in her life. In recent years, she and Roger spent their winters in Florida, where she soaked up every bit of sunshine she could, often from the seat of their golf cart.

Above all, Cheryl was all about her family. She was a sister, aunt, loving wife, supportive and present mother, and Nana to the grandchildren she adored.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Roger; daughters Janelle (Ryan) Burch of New Berlin, WI and Lindsay (Anthony) Jones of Salem Lakes, WI; siblings Barb (the late Jim) Gudeman, Thomas Duban and Greg Duban; four grandchildren, Evan, Olivia, Jackson and Charlie; several nieces, nephews and extended family members; and her adoring dog, Finn.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Proko Funeral Home, with a memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for esophageal cancer research, in Cheryl's memory.
