William "Bill" Johnson
William E. Johnson, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Milwaukee, on March 26, 1930, he was the son of the late Hilmer and Marie (Rita) Johnson.
On March 31, 1951, he married Dorothy J. DeLuca at St. Mark’s Rectory. They would have soon celebrated their 67th anniversary.
In June of 1951, Bill was drafted into the US Army. He proudly served in the Signal Corp. as a Radio Engineer for the Armed Forces Network. He served in Germany and enjoyed being a member of the AFN basketball team. He was honorably discharged in May of 1953.
Bill was employed by Jockey International for 32 years. He retired as the Director of Corporate Personnel on June 30, 1985. He was proud to say he was retired more years than he worked.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards, playing scrabble on the computer with Dorothy, managing his son’s little league teams, watching his children and grandchildren in their sport events, above all else, spending time with his family, and a good cocktail.
Surviving Bill is his wife, Dorothy J. Johnson; four children, William E. Johnson II, Brian T. Johnson, Nancy A. Johnson, and Joel R. (Tammy) Johnson; three grandsons, William E.
