Obituary for George Gerald Gervais
George G. Gervais, 79, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House.
Born in Ashland, WI, on October 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mathodia (Karpinski) Gervais. He was educated in the schools of Ashland and graduated from DePadua High School. He moved to Kenosha in January of 1963.
George was formerly employed with American Motors Corporation. He later owned and operated George’s Club Highview for several years before his son Danny took it over. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the UAW Local 72 Retirees. He enjoyed playing cribbage and watching sports, especially teams from Wisconsin.
Survivors include his four sons, William (Elva) Gervais of Waukegan, IL, Larry Gervais of Fifield, WI, Danny (Deena) Gervais of Bristol, and Michael Gervais of Wisconsin; a sister, Elenore Wombacker of Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Gervais; two brothers, Raymond Gervais and Frank Gervais; and three sisters, Virginia Olby, Pat Zanella, and Rosemary Carrol.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10th, at Proko Funeral Home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of one’s choice in George’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
