Thomas "Tom" Flowers
Thomas Joseph Flowers passed away peacefully at his home on February 5, 2018, in the loving care of his wife, Patricia and daughter, Kathy.
He was born June 14, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to Frank Joseph and Ellen Elizabeth (Anderson) Flowers.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962. He served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1968 for 3 tours during the Vietnam War. He was a part of the nuclear submarine program. He was proud of his service and was a dedicated supporter of all those who have served.
On August 19, 1965, he married Linda Thompson in Pocatello, Idaho. She preceded him in death in 1992. He married Patricia Anderson on September 30, 1995, in Wilmot, WI.
He worked his entire career for Commonwealth Edison Nuclear Power Plant until his retirement in 1998. His lifelong passion was working as a firefighter and paramedic. He was an active member of the Salem Township Fire Department. He became an EMT and then a paramedic and worked for the Salem Township Rescue Squad for 40 years. He gave his time and commitment to help save the lives of the citizens of our community. He served as both the Captain and Chief of the Rescue Squad.
He enjoyed camping and fishing and spending time with his wife Pat, at their trailer in the Northwoods. He was a passionate Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed going to the games with Pat in the “Bearsmobile”. Tom was a devoted family man and was proud of his children, their families and their accomplishments.
Survivors include his wife Patricia, his daughters, Kristine Flowers (Dale Lenzner), Antigo, WI and Kathryn (William) LeFebve, Bristol, WI grandchildren Sydney and Jenna Lenzner, and Samuel and Benjamin LeFebve, his brother Art (Louise) Flowers, and sister Barbara (Dave) Lacy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, his mother Ellen and father, Frank, and his brother Paul.
Tom’s family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Dr. Hettrick for their wonderful care of Tom and support of our family.
