Obituary for Ron Burnett

Ron Burnett
Ron J. Burnett, 79, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Froedtert South-Kenosha Medical Center Campus surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 1, 1938, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Marjorie M. (Herrmann) Burnett. He attended Kenosha schools, graduating from Mary D. Bradford in 1958. He earned an associate degree from Gateway Technical College.
On June 20, 1964, he was united in marriage with Marlene DeFranco.
He was employed as an International Sales Coordinator for Snap-On Tools for 35 years, until his retirement on June 1, 2000. He later worked as a bailiff for 10 years, in intake court.
Ron was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the RecPlex. He served as an usher for Holy Rosary Church, served on the Parish Council, and volunteered at the annual festival in the fried dough tent. He also volunteered at the Kenosha Public Museum. He was a regular blood donor. He was an avid golfer, golfing on the Snap-On Retiree golf league and with his brothers and son-in-law every weekend. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; his children, Michelle Burnett of Kenosha, and Laura (Robert) Shoemaker of Pleasant Prairie; grandson, Ty Erickson; three brothers, James Burnett of Kenosha, Michael “Mick” (Mary) Burnett of Racine, and Richard “Rick” (Lynn) Burnett of Somers; sister, Joan Burnett of Marshfield, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Louis G. DeFranco; sister-in-law, Nancy Burnett; parents-in-law, Vincenzo and Frances DeFranco; and nephews, Louis DeFranco III and Jeffrey Burnett.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Trimark, the medical team, and the 3 Palmer nursing staff for their compassionate care of the family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 30th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 12:00 noon. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Proko Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Memorials to Holy Rosary Parish or a charity of your choice in Ron’s honor would be appreciated.
