Obituary for Mae Tenuta

Mae Tenuta
Mae (Falbo) Tenuta, 95, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on January 21, 2018, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Born in Racine on October 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Enrico and Giovanna (Carelli) Falbo. In later years, she and her husband spent their winters in Arizona. Mae also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She went out of her way to make everyone feel special.
Mae married Anthony Tenuta on April 25, 1944, at St. Lucy’s Church in Racine. They were together for almost 70 years. Tony preceded her in death on January 7, 2014.
Mae was employed in the Meat Department at Piggly Wiggly for 28 years until her retirement in 1982.
She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church as well as a member of the Holy Rosary Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (David) Manka of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Michele (Larry) Martin and Michael (Debbie) Manka; and five great-grandchildren, Izabella, Hailey and Ava Manka, and twins Gianna and Mayli Martin.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Josephine Phillips, Angeline Knutsen, Louis Falbo and Ector Falbo; and four great-grandchildren, Elise Maria, Ella Blu, Maya Grace and Lawrence Martin.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Leonardo Montemurro and his staff and to the entire staff of Hospice Alliance for all the special care given to Mae.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Prayers will be held on Saturday, January 27th, at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
