Eleanor Evans (Novak)
Eleanor Evans, 93, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2017, at Aurora Medical Center Campus, surrounded by her loving family.
Eleanor was born in Chicago, IL, on August 18, 1924, to the late John and Helen Novak.
On May 8, 1943, she married Charles William Evans in Chicago. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1993.
Eleanor managed the produce department at A&P Grocery and later led the catering services at Holiday Inn. She enjoyed the Chicago CUBS, cooking, canning peaches and pears, and gardening. Eleanor was a member of the Stock Club with her neighbors and friends, and a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
Surviving Eleanor are her three children, Sharon Schutz of Kenosha, Bill (Pat) Evans of Kenosha, and Rhonda Neisler of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Jeff, Steve, and Scott Schutz, Christian and Craig Evans, and Alexandra Neisler; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry; a sister, Kay; and her grandson, Brad Evans.
A heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at Brookdale for the wonderful care that they provided to our mom.
Services for Eleanor were held privately. Interment took place at St. James Cemetery.
